  • Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Information Management, Education, or a related field.
  • Proven experience working as a librarian, preferably in a school setting.
  • Knowledge of library management systems and cataloging methods.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Passion for reading, literacy, and student development.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to foster a love of reading and promote independent learning in students.
  • Experience with digital resources, e-books, and online databases is desirable.
  • Understanding of child development and the ability to select age-appropriate materials.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative team-oriented approach.
  • Fluency in Mandarin is a plus.

Job Description:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the school library, including circulation, cataloging, and shelving of books and resources.
  • Assist students and faculty in locating resources, both physical and digital, to support their learning and teaching.
  • Organize and promote library events, such as book fairs, reading weeks, or author visits, to encourage student engagement and literacy.
  • Provide reading recommendations to students and help develop their reading interests.
  • Maintain the library's digital catalog and other electronic resources.
  • Collaborate with teachers to select appropriate resources for curriculum support.
  • Develop and implement library programs and activities that support literacy, research, and academic achievement.
  • Monitor library inventory and coordinate book purchases, replacements, and donations.
  • Conduct library orientations for new students and staff.
  • Assist in creating a positive and nurturing environment where students feel comfortable exploring and utilizing library resources.
  • Maintain records of library usage, student progress, and book circulation.
